About Us

About Moe Cason

Born, raised, and corn fed out of Des Moines, Iowa.   Veteran of the U.S. Navy served on the USS Missouri – an Iowa class Battleship nicknamed “Big Mo”, now a museum ship at Pearl Harbor.  Moe is passionate about BBQ because what initially was a hobby, very quickly turned into a way of life.   Moe developed his passion for cooking from his family and upbringing.   He has competed in over 300 cook offs domestic and internationally including a top ten placement at Memphis in the May world championships.  

Moe started Ponderosa Barbeque as his competition team representing his family, friends and neighborhood in Des Moines, Iowa.
